OUR CITY
The City of Emeryville has long been an important part of the San Francisco Bay Area's creative and entrepreneurial landscape. Over the past several decades—and especially during the last thirty years—the city has evolved into a vibrant center for art, film, technology, music, and innovation.
Home to world-renowned creative organizations such as Pixar, along with numerous artists, studios, filmmakers, and music producers, Emeryville continues to inspire creative work enjoyed throughout the world.
OUR VISION
The vision for the Emeryville Film Festival was first established in 2013, when EmeryvilleFilmFestival.com was registered and a long-term concept was developed to create a festival dedicated to celebrating Emeryville's unique role in film, arts, music, and creative innovation.
Since then, the concept has remained focused on creating a platform that highlights the city's creative achievements and supports artistic engagement throughout the East Bay region.
WHY EMERYVILLE
Over the years, Emeryville's cultural influence has continued to grow, reinforcing the need for a dedicated platform that showcases the city's creative community.
Recent enthusiasm surrounding film-related events and creative programming has further demonstrated the strong interest that exists within the community for film, storytelling, music, and the arts. The positive response from residents, artists, filmmakers, and local organizations confirms what was envisioned more than a decade ago—that Emeryville is uniquely positioned to support a thriving and meaningful creative culture.
LOOKING AHEAD
As we continue evaluating future opportunities for the Emeryville Film Festival, we are exploring concepts that extend beyond a traditional annual event and support film, media, music, education, and creative collaboration throughout the year.
The long-term goal is to create a broader platform that strengthens Emeryville's position as one of the Bay Area's leading centers for creativity and artistic expression.
CREATIVE INITIATIVES
In addition to film exhibition, the organization is exploring initiatives that support original film music, soundtrack development, creative collaboration, and educational opportunities for emerging artists and filmmakers musicians alike.
